Dubai isn’t just breaking records—it’s building a community. That was the big message during the city’s first City Briefing of 2025, held at the Coca-Cola Arena and hosted by the Department of Economy and Tourism (DET). The event brought together over 1,300 key players from across industries—hospitality, retail, F&B, aviation, and beyond—all focused on shaping the future of Dubai’s tourism.

A City That Moves Together
In his opening remarks, Helal Saeed Almarri, Director-General of DET, made it clear: Dubai’s success doesn’t happen in isolation. It’s a result of a powerful partnership between public and private sectors. With record-breaking numbers already rolling in for 2025, that collaboration is only growing stronger.
“We’ve seen amazing progress because everyone—government and industry—is moving in sync,” said Almarri.
Record Numbers, Real Results
Dubai welcomed 7.15 million international visitors in just the first four months of 2025—a 7% increase from last year. And with over 153,000 hotel rooms now available, the city is well on its way to surpassing the 18.72 million visitors it welcomed in 2024.
But it’s not just about visitor numbers—it’s about experience. Hotel occupancy, room rates, and guest satisfaction are all rising, showing that people aren’t just coming to Dubai—they’re loving it.
Putting People First
One of the most heartwarming highlights? Dubai is now the first Certified Autism Destination™ in the Eastern Hemisphere. More than 70,000 hospitality professionals have been trained to provide better care, and 300+ hotels are already certified as autism-friendly.
DET also launched MyDubai Communities, a new platform helping residents and visitors connect around shared passions, from art and food to adventure and wellness.
What’s New This Summer?
Two new campaigns are set to light up Dubai’s global image:
- “Dubai. That’s How You Summer” – capturing those iconic poolside moments, desert escapes, and chilled city vibes.
- “Find Your Story”, featuring celebrities Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi, inviting the world to discover their own Dubai story.
And yes—Dubai Summer Surprises is back from June 27 to August 31, 2025, with shopping deals, entertainment, and family-friendly fun across the city.
More Than a Destination
What stood out most at the briefing wasn’t just the achievements—it was the energy. Dubai’s tourism isn’t just growing; it’s evolving. From inclusivity to innovation, this city is making sure everyone—residents, visitors, and industry insiders—feels part of something bigger.
