Great news for everyone in the UAE! The government of UAE has officially announced the Eid Al Fitr 2025 (eid) holidays for the private sector, setting the stage for an exciting and well-deserved break. Whether you’re planning family gatherings, festive outings, or just looking forward to some relaxation, it’s time to get ready for one of the most joyful times of the year!

When Are the Eid Holidays?
The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) has confirmed that federal government employees will have their Eid Al Fitr holidays from 1st to 3rd Shawwal 1446 AH, with work resuming on 4th Shawwal thats means Sunday, March 30, through Tuesday, April 1, if Ramadan is 29 days.
If Ramadan lasts for 30 days, an extra holiday will be added on the 30th of Ramadan, meaning an extended break for everyone! The exact dates will be based on the moon sighting, so stay tuned for final confirmation.
How the UAE Comes Alive During Eid Al Fitr
Eid in the UAE is not just a public holiday—it’s a grand celebration! From early morning prayers to dazzling fireworks, the country comes to life with an infectious festive spirit. Here’s what makes Eid so special:
- Eid Prayers: The day kicks off with beautiful prayers in mosques and open prayer grounds, uniting communities in gratitude and faith.
- Feasting with Family: Traditional Emirati delicacies like harees, machboos, and luqaimat make every meal a special experience.
- Fireworks & Festivities: Malls, theme parks, and public spaces come alive with fireworks, special events, and exciting Eid discounts.
- Mini Vacations & Road Trips: With a long break, many residents use the opportunity to travel, explore different emirates, or take short international trips.
Eid: A Time to Give Back
Beyond the celebrations, Eid Al Fitr is also a time of generosity and gratitude. Zakat Al Fitr, a small donation given to those in need before Eid prayers, is a key tradition that reminds us of the importance of community and kindness.
What About Private Sector Holidays?
If you work in the private sector, don’t worry—the official announcement for private sector holidays is expected soon. Generally, private sector employees get a similar break, but exact dates may vary based on company policies.
A Special Message from FAHR
On this occasion, FAHR has extended heartfelt greetings to the UAE leadership, citizens, residents, and the entire Arab and Islamic world, wishing everyone prosperity, peace, and happiness.
