Dubai International Chamber is embarking on a bold initiative aimed at broadening the global reach of local private sector companies. In line with its ‘New Horizons’ strategy, the Chamber announced plans to hold roadshows across Asia, Europe, and East and West Africa this year, with additional showcases in the Baltic region, ASEAN countries, Turkey, and other African markets scheduled for 2024.
The ‘New Horizons’ initiative aids in propelling member companies onto the international stage, and is integral to Dubai’s goal of escalating non-oil foreign trade to AED2 trillion by 2026, as outlined in the emirate’s five-year trade plan. Dubai Chamber’s President and CEO, Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, asserted the initiative’s objective to aid 100 Dubai businesses in achieving global expansion by the end of 2024.
The initiative has already demonstrated success with trade missions to Central Asia, the United Kingdom, and South Africa during the first half of 2023, establishing over 550 business meetings and fostering potential partnerships.
This surge in global outreach and expansion of local businesses presents enormous opportunities for the hospitality industry.
