Coming to Saadiyat Island in 2025, the Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi will offer visitors an immersive experience of our planet’s 13.8-billion-year story. Zayed National Museum
Also located on Saadiyat Island, the Zayed National Museum will be a masterpiece in itself, honoring the legacy of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding father of the UAE. Designed by the world-renowned Foster + Partners, the museum will feature a 123-meter-high tower with wings that mimic the wingtips of a falcon, paying homage to the region’s culture. Inside, galleries will explore themes like Falconry and Conservation, History and Society, and Science and Learning, all telling the inspiring story of the UAE’s journey. Construction on the iconic wings is complete, with the interiors now in the finishing stages.
Guggenheim Abu Dhabi
Frank Gehry’s Guggenheim Museum Abu Dhabi is set to bring a fresh artistic edge to the Saadiyat Cultural District. Designed with Gehry’s signature flair for the unconventional, this museum will house 28 galleries spread across a sprawling 11,600 sqm, with even more exhibition spaces nestled within unique cones and terraces. It’s a stunning addition to the UAE’s artistic landscape, though an exact opening date is still under wraps.
TeamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi
TeamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi promises a fully immersive, multi-sensory experience unlike anything else. Described as “the home of infinite curiosity,” this attraction will bring visitors face-to-face with interactive installations that engage all five senses. The prestigious Ritz-Carlton Reserve resorts set to bring its signature style and hyper-personalized service to Abu Dhabi, marking an exciting addition to the UAE’s luxury offerings. Opening on Ramhan Island in 2029, this retreat will offer stunning views of the Arabian Gulf and an oasis of peace away from the bustling city. Al Qudra’s plans for a Traditional Souk in Abu Dhabi’s W64 Zone, overlooking the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, will transform the 245,000 sqm area into a cultural landmark. The souk promises UAE heritage-inspired shaded alleyways, lush courtyards, a waterfront hotel, and a vibrant restaurant district. This development aims to offer an authentic yet sophisticated experience, blending tradition with modern leisure.
Velodrome Abu Dhabi
Scheduled to open in 2025, Velodrome Abu Dhabi will feature the region’s first UCI Category 1 indoor cycling track, equipped to host international championships. The rooftop track is particularly impressive, with a 600-meter incline that rises along the building’s exterior, offering breathtaking views of Hudayriyat and the Abu Dhabi skyline.
Louvre Abu Dhabi Residences
Set within the expansive Saadiyat Grove, Louvre Abu Dhabi Residences by Aldar will offer 400 luxury apartments with unparalleled ocean views and proximity to the Louvre Abu Dhabi. Residents will have access to an art-curated lounge, a private 12-seater cinema, a wellness center, and a children’s playroom. Nammos Hotels & Resorts
Expanding from its iconic beach club origins, Nammos is bringing its luxurious yet relaxed hospitality concept to Abu Dhabi. While the exact location remains unconfirmed, Nammos Hotels & Resorts promises to blend the brand’s renowned beach vibe with an upscale hotel experience, offering a unique, carefree luxury destination in the UAE.
Nobu Hotel and Beach Club
The celebrated Nobu brand is expanding beyond fine dining, with a Nobu Hotel, Beach Club, and residences coming to Abu Dhabi’s Mamsha Beach on Saadiyat Island in 2026.This Aldar collaboration includes 165 upscale rooms, Nobu Matsuhisa’s restaurant, additional dining, a luxury wellness center, and multiple pools for guests.Guests can also indulge in a VIP experience at the rooftop Nobu Villa and a chic daytime clubbing vibe at the Nobu Beach Club. This marks Nobu’s second beach club in the UAE and will elevate Abu Dhabi’s luxury hospitality scene.
Saadiyat Grove
Saadiyat Grove will link cultural landmarks to Mamsha Al Saadiyat, offering luxury apartments, retail, dining, and vibrant community spaces nearby.
Mina Zayed redevelopment
The historic port of Mina Zayed, a 40-year-old community that played a significant role in Abu Dhabi’s growth, is undergoing a major transformation. This redevelopment, spanning three million square meters, will blend residential, tourism, and entertainment spaces while preserving its vibrant commercial spirit. Highlights include a new fish market, seasonal markets, and a revamped plant souq, ensuring a rich cultural experience.
Ramhan Island
Ramhan Island, located near Jubail Island, is set to become a luxurious cosmetic transformation waterfront community. Plans include 1,800 villas, a 120-room luxury hotel, 900 marina apartments, and a 1.7-km retail promenade. Residents will enjoy green spaces, a hub, a beach bar, and ‘floating villas’ with private beach and open sea views. Organized into four neighborhoods—Marine, Breeze, Cove, and Views—this project provides residents with the pinnacle of island luxury.
LXR Hotels & Resorts
Hilton’s LXR Hotels & Resorts will open a luxury resort on Al Nawras Island, featuring beachfront villas, pools, and dining.
Saadiyat Lagoons
Saadiyat Lagoons will offer 4- to 6-bedroom villas nestled within 900,000 sqm of protected mangrove landscapes. Future-ready, each villa includes electric car charging and options for customizable interiors. Beyond the natural surroundings, the development will include shopping areas, kindergartens, and access to the serene Soul Beach.

Dubai Mangroves
If approved, the Dubai Mangroves project aims to plant over 100 million mangrove trees along 72 kilometers of coastline.The project will include educational hubs like a Mangrove Visitor Center, Botanical Museum, and Conservation Center, with guided nature walks and conservation programs.Read more here.
Palm Jebel Ali
Palm Jebel Ali, unveiled by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, will be twice the size of the original Palm Jumeirah, spanning 13.4 square km. This massive development will house 80 hotels and resorts, with plans for a water park, marinas, and a unique “Sea Village” featuring overwater homes, offering a whole new level of luxury.
Al Maktoum International Airport expansion
Dubai’s Al Maktoum International Airport is expanding to become the world’s largest, with a goal of accommodating over 260 million passengers by 2050. Phase 1, set for completion by 2030, will support 130 million passengers annually with new runways and terminals. The airport will also host a wide array of retail, dining, and entertainment options.
Dubai Metro – Blue Line

The Dubai Metro Blue Line, which was first considered in 2006, has officially been greenlit by HH Sheikh Mohammed. Once completed, this new line will connect key areas such as Marsa, Dubai Creek, Festival City, Mirdif, and Academic City, promising improved access and convenience for commuters across Dubai. Construction is set to begin on Dubai Metro Blue Line this year.

Dubai Metro expansion
On June 30, 2024, the Dubai Executive Council approved plans for a substantial expansion of the Dubai Metro network. By 2030, stations will reach 96 over 140 square kilometers, and by 2040, to 140 stations across 228 square kilometers. Currently, the network has 35 stations on the Red Line, 20 on the Green Line, and 11 on Dubai Tram, with 14 more planned for the Blue Line. Ultimately, Dubai is on track to solidify its position as a city of seamless, efficient transportation, connecting more neighborhoods and reducing congestion.
Floc Duo Rail
At Gitex Global 2024, Dubai’s RTA introduced the Floc Duo Rail, an innovative electric pod rail system. Designed for smooth, self-driving transit, this system could alleviate congestion along Sheikh Zayed Road. Operating both suspended and ground-level, Floc Duo Rail will facilitate travel across the city, providing a fast, efficient way to reach Metro stations and other hubs.Read more here.
Sky Pods
Dubai’s upcoming Sky Pods network is a 65-kilometer suspended transport system approved by Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed. This cable car-like system will run along Umm Suqeim Street, Al Khor, and Zabeel at speeds up to 150 km/h. Solar-powered and group-oriented, Sky Pods will be five times more energy-efficient than electric vehicles, aligning with Dubai’s Smart Mobility Strategy. Read more here.
Dubai Green Spine
As part of the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, the Dubai Green Spine project will transform 64 km of Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Road (E311) into an eco-friendly corridor. Led by urban planning firm URB, the project includes non-motorized transport options, walking and cycling paths, green spaces, and playgrounds. Jebel Ali Beach
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has approved the Jebel Ali Beach megaproject, which will extend 6.6 km, making it the longest open beach in Dubai. Al Mamzar and Jumeirah 1 beach
Al Mamzar and Jumeirah 1 beaches are getting a complete makeover to enhance both their resilience to climate change and their sophistication. Renovations will include elevated spaces and improved facilities, with phased construction allowing partial beach access during the upgrades.
Burj Azizi
Scheduled for completion by 2028, Burj Azizi will redefine the Dubai skyline with a vertical shopping mall, seven-star hotel, luxury residences, observation deck, and high-end restaurants.
